Ripley's First Birthday: Part II - Daycare

We had to have a small celebration at daycare, so I made mini-carrot cake cupcakes and her older friends sang to her. This was her first experience with cupcakes, so she was a bit befuddled. It didn't take long for her to realize she had been missing out.

Ripley's First Birthday: Part I - Baseball Game

It has been way too long since I've posted an update, but it's been a busy busy month. As most of you know, May 27th is a big day for little Miss Ripley. We kicked off her birthday celebration with a visit from some out of town guests - Miss Shannon from Korea and Uncle Culann and Aunt Carolyn from Cleveland. Memorial Day and baseball at Camden Yards are always going to be intertwined with the little one's birth, so we decided to have this Memorial Day be baby's first baseball game (we have an official certificate from the Orioles to this effect). So James and Kari, Fiona, Culann, Carolyn, Pop Pop, Miss Bridie (visiting from Ireland), Mom and Dad set off to the game against the Toronto Blue Jays (which we won). There was slight disappointment because we did not arrive early enough to get the free Orioles camo hat, but there was too much fun to be had to let this trouble us. Baby even got to visit the Camden Club where there was a spectacular view of the game.

A Visit from Dan Rice

A quick acknowledgment that Chad's TFA roommate Dan Rice visited a couple of weeks ago. He lives in Florida now and hardly ever heads up this way so it's been ages since we've seen him. Had a nice afternoon visiting, and now have a great excuse to go to Ft. Lauderdale!
